Here are three AI productivity hacks I swear by, plus three I'm excited to test.
What's Already Working
- Talk, don't type
I'm a terrible typist and never broke out of the two-finger typing habit. Taking notes, writing emails, and creating content used to be painful until I discovered superwhisper, a speech-to-text app that lets me voice everything: AI prompts, emails, Teams messages, you name it. Fast, accurate, and my wrists thank me daily. - Stop taking notes
I have never been a fan of the recording capabilities from enterprise conferencing tools (Zoom, Teams, WebEx). But ChatGPT's new Record feature has become something I can't live without. You hit record at the start of a meeting, there is no annoying live transcription, and you get a comprehensive summary with action items. Better yet, you can chat with the meeting transcript afterward! If you find yourself frantically typing to keep up during meetings, try this feature, and your meetings will be more productive. - Learn however works for you
Beyond basic "explain like I'm five" prompting, AI makes learning really flexible. NotebookLM turns your docs, links, and YouTube videos into custom podcasts. I spoke with a colleague who uses Claude to create SVGs and Mermaid diagrams. I'm a big user of ChatGPT's Advanced Voice Mode to have live conversations for my own learning. So whether you're a textual, auditory, or visual learner, pick your preferred modality and let the power of the models teach you anything.
What I'm Testing Next
- Gamma — Content creation for websites, decks, and docs. In sales and pre-sales, we spend way too much time creating content from scracth or glueing content together. I'm hoping Gamma will cut that time down for me.
- Cluely — Real-time call coaching that listens and feeds you smart suggestions as you talk. Basically a dynamic teleprompter that adapts to your conversation.
- Grammarly — Still on the free version, which helps catch grammatical errors, but I'm looking for something that fully adapts to my writing style and can be prompted to write in a voice that actually sounds like me.
